TOPIC: [SOLVED] ?faqtab=X when using SEF URLs

[SOLVED] ?faqtab=X when using SEF URLs 1 year, 5 months ago #773

I haven't managed to be able to link to a page with a specific tab open using the ?faqtab=1 when I have SEF URLs turned on (I need to have it turned on!).

I have tried the form:

www.domain.com/sefurl?faqtab=1

but this doesn't work.

Next I tried turning off SEF URLs, copying that link, adding '&faqtab=1' to the url then turning SEF back on but it shortens it back to the form above (www.domain.com/sefurl?faqtab=1)

Without seriously looking through the code I'm pretty stumped. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Craig

Re: ?faqtab=X when using SEF URLs 1 year, 5 months ago #774

is caching turned on?

are you using native SEF? we are here and it works fine as you can see...

Re: ?faqtab=X when using SEF URLs 1 year, 5 months ago #776

Yes i'm using native SEF. Caching is not turned on and I've been doing ctrl+f5 refreshes anyway to ensure its not cache-loaded.

I've actually just turned off SEF and it's still not working so that might have been a red herring. What else could stop &faqtab=2 from working? (Yes i have more than 3 tabs in the faq on that page)

Thanks
Craig

EDIT: Just to add, I've tried turning off any non-standard modules/plugins/components and it still isn't working. For reference I'm using Joomla 1.5.18 with FAQ 0.9RC1

I have no idea. The only way would be to send me admin access. There must be something miscondigured but faqtab has never failed on any sites I have used it on...

Unfortunately it isn't a live server i can give you access too. Nothing shows up on debug either. I'll see if I can figure out why its not working and I'll report back if I find anything.

Thanks
Craig

While I'm thinking about it, I'm using it in the slider mode - it is possible with the slider as opposed to the tabs isn't it?
