[SOLVED] First post- Padding of the content wrong? 1 year, 8 months ago #544

The problem was a css from the template !

The padding of the content in the slide are wrong. I’m using the new beta...

Exemple:
Go there

I try in firebug to add padding to :
#faqslider .pane-sliders div.content
padding-top: 20px !important

It work but the header link that open the slider wont work properly?

I can see that you've changed your template css. However, that may make the display on other pages not so great. Why not edit faqslider.css to contain something like the following?

div#faqslider .contentpaneopen, .contentpane { margin-top: 10px; }

Yep, I try that first, but by doing that the link/title of the slide was unresponsive. Maybe something to do with the z-index, I don’t know. Anyway, it’s a modif that I make before in this testing template and didn’t make to much difference, if any, on the rest of the page.

Curiously the top of the content (article) was hidden ( I guess around 20 px)

The problem was that I add -20px on contentpaneopen for I don’t remember what reason.

Thanks to point that to me...

Yu like the way I’m using your plugin ( It’s a test to make a little store)

The only thing that bug me and I don’t think something can be done without Ajax or heavy programmation, is when you go to, say, the second tab and press the “add to cart” button, I come back to the first tab on the refresh of the page.

I was going to use another tab plugin (see magasin main horizontal button) (made inside one article) but I was thinking that because your component is showing different article, maybe I will kill that behavior....

Anyway Your plugin give me more possibilities to add more products to the store...

Question : Another reason is with the other plugin all the store is in one article and I didn’t like that... For performance and if problems occurs in the article the whole store is down...

What about performance, do you think your plugin will be better?

Ah, the css problem may well be related the javascript that builds the sliders. It applies a load of styles the to content tab so that may well make the slider inactive when you've applied an external style...

FAQ Slider allows you to set the tab that is visible on loading the page. You simply add ?faqtab=n. This is demonstrated here. You could set your cart to return to a dynamic address...

As for performance, well there are two factors: sever-side and client-side.

If you use the section syntax, all the data is loaded in one db query which is nice and efficient. I've just made some modifications that will make the plugin itself much more efficient.

The more tabs/sliders you have the more client-side work will be necessary to render the javascript effects. That's really the users problem. I think the FAQs on Trafalgar Design are starting to push it as it takes a second to render the tabs/sliders...

FAQ Slider has lots of advantages in my opinion like the ability to link directly to the article to edit it, lots of display parameters for the content in the tabs, nesting abilities, setting tab visible on display, loading modules as well as articles and event the ability to build your tabs/sliders from inline content.

For the css this is my own doing... This template is my test site that I use for a while. This poor thing have many profond modification.... That was the cause of the problem...

You say

Let me eplain what will be extra cool on this case...

As you see I want to build a small store with your product. One thing that I find annoying for the customer is : Say you are on the tab 2 or 3 or whatever and you click a “add to cart ” button, you alway refresh on page one, loosing where you where before.

What I really like to have is: Say you are on the tab 2 or 3 or whatever and you click a “add to cart ” button, you alway refresh on the page where you click your “add to cart” button to continue your shopping...

I’m ready to hack this in... if possible

I’m looking the way to have that submit ”add to cart” going Ajax but that’s a little complicated so far, I have to investigate.....
